On December 30th, 2005 my family and I made the journey from Sioux Falls, SD to Fairmont, MN to deliver Paul and his brother David's completed guitars. They were opening for Rebecca St. James at the Fairmont High School Peforming Arts Center. It was a great time and Remedy Drive put on their usual great show. I was very, very impressed with how well Paul's guitar sounded that night (granted, I'm just a wee bit biased.) This show was the 28th time I'd seen them play (yeah, I know, I'm sick...) and Paul's guitar cut through the mix so well that I heard him playing parts that I didn't know were in the songs! Here are some of the pictures I took that night of Paul's guitar:
This is right after Paul pulled his guitar out of the case. I'm not sure he really knows what to think yet.
This is from the sound check prior to the show, as Paul was tuning up.
David also got his baritone guitar that night. This is he and Paul setting their volume levels.
The show begins with Paul singing "In A Moment".
Taking one of his many solos that evening.
Really starting to get into the music.
A short breather between songs.
This shot was actually sent to me from someone who's daughter was at the concert. She was on the left side of the stage, so it gives a different angle than the pictures I took.
More singing and playing. Funny how much of that goes on at a concert.
The final solo on the song, "Colors" with David about to fall off his makeshift piano stool in the background.
David inspecting Paul's guitar backstage after the show.
Paul (hopefully) expressing his overall opinion of the guitar.
Follow along with the construction of this guitar starting with building the body.
