On December 30th, 2005 Remedy Drive had the opening slot at a Rebecca St. James concert in Fairmont, MN. My family and I made the journey from Sioux Falls to deliver David and his brother Paul's completed guitars. The show went very well, and the sound of the guitars were great, if I do say so myself. Here are some pictures from that memorable evening:
David pulling his baritone out of the case for the first time. Phil (another one of David's brothers) looks on.
After Rebecca St. James's band had finished doing their soundcheck, it was time for Remedy Drive to get set up. Here's David showing Rebecca's guitarist the baritone.
The tuning on a baritone is different than a standard guitar (B, E, A, D, F#, B). David wanted to play the guitar that evening, so he quick worked out the different fingerings for one of their songs with Paul.
Here's David strapping on the baritone for the first time during the concert, and trying to communicate with Paul over the din of an amazing bass solo happening on the other side of the stage.
David ripping up the final solo on the song "Echoes".
Just a simple shot of David playing the baritone.
Followed by a simple shot of him singing.
Either David is telling the crowd that the Tundra Man baritone is the greatest guitar he's ever played, or he is trying to be the Fonz. I'll let you decide.
Paul noodling around after the show. He didn't realize that I was going to take a picture, so that's why he looks spaced out.
Trying out some new riffs.
From the look on his face, I think he likes his new guitar.
So here begins the journey of building David's Baritone. Follow along with the construction of this guitar starting with building the body.
