I built this candle holder for my wife as a Christmas gift. The plans came out of Wood magazine. The arcs are made from maple, with the rest being walnut. The glass holders were picked up at a local Hobby Lobby and are sized to hold standard votive candles. My wife received it in the hospital on Christmas day, the day after the Tundra Boy was born.
It has a very distinctive style. My brother says it looks Aleutian to him. For lack of a better description, I agree with him. The only problem is that it takes up a huge chunk of our dining room table.
This was the first project I did with my Ryobi 9" band saw. It was also one of the last. That saw was nothing but a pain to set up and use. Attempting to make an accurate cut was an exercise in futility. One of the best decisions I made was to upgrade to my 14" Grizzly G0555.
